The Center for Events and Conventions stands on a site with great declivity. Therefore its implementation was based on the level contours, in order to involve them, generating a building with a shape that resembles an eye.

Program: workshop rooms, urban forest, coffe shop, restaurant, skywalk .
The intervention is done on two heritage buildings located in central Macao: The Macao Archives and the Tap Seac Gallery. Both buildings carry a important historical memory of Macao’s past.
After doing the swot analysis, was identified two buildings with the potential of unifying and becoming a landmark that attracts residents and tourists to the area. Also, the now a days closed floor plans and lack of space for its function is inadequate, with glass walls subjecting the building to overheating.
The proposal consists on emphasizing the cultural and historical value of the site, while focusing on education by providing knowledge of history, the arts and the sciences. The key words when developing the project were dynamic, interactive, social connection, cultural connection, social value and new identity to historical memories.
The program consists on a recreational space that provides healthy activities for the mind and body, such as workshops, exhibition area, live music, open cinema, market space, coffee shop, time line exhibition of the site, restaurant, and rooftop skywalk.
Buildings contribute to social sustainability by providing environments that support communities in meeting their social needs. The project aims to create positive outcomes for the community.
Biophilics elements were designed to increase users connectivity to the natural environment. The interior landscape is set to enhance people’s health, productivity, emotional and intellectual well-being in a vibrant setting.
The buildings columns are made of bamboo, in a tree like shape. Resembling an urban forest using environmental features, natural shapes, natural patterns, and elements of light.
In the exterior translucent chinese bricks were used to complete the upper levels on the facade, creating an interesting dialogue between the inside and outside. During the day, the bricks reflect what is happening on the inside, while revealing an energetic atmosphere at night. From the inside, the bricks create a light and shadow ever changing pattern throughout the day.
